Newsletter 18th September 2009

Welcome

Although we are already at the end of the second week of term we would like to say welcome to the new children in Oak class and to their parents. We hope that all families in the school have had a good summer and we are looking forward to working with you to ensure that we have another successful year.

Information evening

Thank you to all parents who were able to come to our information evening. At this time of year it is difficult to find a date and time to suit everyone so we do appreciate that not everyone can attend. We are willing to consider any ideas that would help to make information events more accessible to the majority of parents.

Swine flu

We have been asked by County to report new cases of Swine Flu on a daily basis so if anyone is unlucky enough to be diagnosed as having this would you please inform school as soon as possible.

Thank you

Oak Class would like to say thank you to FONS for the lovely new carpet in their classroom. It is a warm and welcoming colour which has made a big difference to the environment.

Sunday Times vouchers

Thank you to everyone who collected the Sunday Times vouchers for books. We now have fourteen lovely new books for the library.

School Link order

Mrs Gunning would like any orders for books from School Link to be returned to her by Monday 21st September.

School uniform order

Orders for school uniform need to be returned to Mrs Gunning by Friday 25th September.

Communicators

When your child’s communicator booklet is full we will replace it. However, if it is lost or damaged we will be asking for a donation of £3 towards the cost of reprints.

Willow Class

As part of our school topic “I am what I am” Willow Class are looking for parents who would be willing to come in and talk to them about their jobs. If you are able to spend approximately 20 minutes with them please let Mrs Gunning or Mrs Armstrong know.

Water bottles

We would like to remind you that water bottles should contain only water – not squash, milk or fruit juice. As water bottles may occasionally leak we would ask that they are not put in book bags – we have had some books ruined recently due to leaking water bottles.

Lost property

We already have a number of items in lost property with no name labels in! Please make sure that all items are labelled so that we can return lost property to the rightful owner.
