Newsletter 20th November 2009
Open Afternoon
We are working towards a more creative curriculum in school and this term all classes have been planning around the topic “I Am Who I Am”. We are very proud of the work the children have produced and we would like to share this with you. You are welcome to visit the classrooms on Thursday, 26th November from 2.00pm to join in with activities and talk to the children about the topic. If you would like to visit other year groups your child will be able to take you on a tour.
Please use the front entrance as you will need to sign the visitors’ book.
Safety
It has been reported that some children have been climbing and walking along the wall of the bungalow on the corner of Church Street and Station Road. Apart from possibly causing damage to private property this is also a dangerous activity so please discourage children from climbing.
Data
We are aware that personal circumstances are frequently changing and we need to update our data. One of the areas which actually influences our budget is the number of children on roll who are eligible for free school meals. If you are in receipt of Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers Allowance or Child Tax Credit only (income less than £14,495) you are entitled to free school meals for your children. If you feel this applies to you please see Mrs. Gunning who can help arrange this for you. This is an entirely confidential process. We understand that some people may not want to take up the option of free meals, however if you are eligible it would help our future planning if we know the numbers of children this affects.
Curry evening in aid of preschool.
Pritti is once again treating us to an evening of traditional Indian family cooking next Saturday, 28th November, and there are still some tickets available. Tickets are £10 each, to include a pud, and available from the village shop.
