Rowan Class

Mrs. Little is the teacher in Rowan Class.

This year we have both Year 5 and 6 children.

Our topics for 2017-18 include:

Castles

The Ancient Greeks

Adventure

Super Heroes

Space

Inventors

Our PE lessons will be on Wednsday mornings and Friday afternoons in Autumn Term 1, Spring Term 1 and Summer Term 1 and after each half term the Wednesday morning slot will change to Tuesday morning.

We will have weekly spelling tests, usually on a Friday.

Our Year 6 children will be running a weekly tuck shop open to the whole school operating on Thursday morning breaktimes.

This year will see our first school production in the Summer Term involving all children in KS2.

In the Spring Term, there will be the opportunity of 'Twilight SATS practice sessions' after school for those children in Year 6 who might benefit from it.

KS2 Choir will be running on Thursday lunchtimes this year. We will be working hard in the Autumn Term towards our performance at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Schools' Prom.

Sports Club continues to run on a Tuesday after school. There will be the opportunity during the year for members of Rowan class to participate in external sporting festivals in various sports with Cross County and Football this term.

Cello and Violin lessons are on Mondays with Mrs de Baros.

Brass lessons are on Wednesdays with Mr Moffat.

The Oundle & Thrapston 'Cluster Orchestra' will meet again this year in November. There will be a further rehearsal in March and a final concert at St. Peter's Church in Oundle in June.

There will be no residential trip for UKS2 this year as the school moves to a bi-annual trip schedule in line with other primary schools.
