Friends of Nassington School

We are a committee of parents and teachers who fundraise to enable the school to provide extra resources for our children’s education. This is the 7th year that I have been at the school and during that time money raised by FONS has provided help towards kitting out the Learning Centre, some musical instruments, books, a PA system, sports uniform and equipment and much more.

Every year FONS provide a Christmas party for the children and we always pay for the whole school to have a trip to the panto. This year will be no exception. We are also focusing on helping with transport. School trips of various kinds really enhance our children’s education and the coaches required to transport the children are costly to hire. So FONS will help with transport costs this year.

We are providing some fixtures and fittings for the new mobile classroom and a new carpet for the reception class. The list will go on!

Our annual sponsored walk takes place on 19th October and we hope to see as many children and parents as possible. It is an event that everyone always enjoys.

Also, coming up, we have the Christmas Fair on 29th November. In 2009 there will be other fundraising events, including a children’s disco, the May Fair, Strawberry Teas and of course the end of term BBQ, which is a great social event, not so much about fundraising but for everyone to get together at the end of the school year and have a good time.

Thank you too for the support of all other parents and friends. I look forward to your continued support in 2008/2009.
